Meridian Residency manages Costa Rica residency applications for Americans and Canadians, from the first eligibility conversation to the day your DIMEX card is in your hand. We are based in San José, we work in English and Spanish, and the legal filings are handled by licensed Costa Rican attorneys.
Why the site reads the way it does
Most people researching Costa Rica residency are between 55 and 70, are about to make one of the largest decisions of their lives, and have already read a dozen pages that contradict each other on a $43 fee. We decided the most useful thing we could publish was the law itself, translated into plain English, with the article numbers left in so you can verify every line.
That is also why there are no exclamation marks, no countdown timers and no reviews from clients who do not exist. If a page here helps you file on your own, it has done its job. If it convinces you that you would rather not, the eligibility review is free.

Every figure has a source
Government fees on this site are cited to the article of Ley 8764 or the Reglamento de Extranjería that creates them. Ranges from third parties name the third party. Where we could not verify something, the page says so rather than rounding it away.

Dated, and kept current
Each guide shows the date it was last revised. Fees that change on a schedule (the Article 251 document fee, the CCSS contribution scale, the Correos de Costa Rica card fee) are reviewed every January and May, and any DGME resolution that changes a requirement is reflected the week it is published.

Legal work is done by lawyers
Meridian is an advisory and case-management firm, not a law firm. Filings are prepared and signed by independent attorneys registered with the Colegio de Abogados y Abogadas de Costa Rica. You receive the attorney's name and registration number before we begin.

No invented proof
We publish no testimonials until we have clients who have agreed, in writing, to be quoted. Until then, what we ask you to trust is what you can check: the law we cite, the entity behind the site, and the guarantee in our terms.
